We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming production of Spring Awakening! This show follows the hardships and joys of a group of teenagers in late 19th century Germany. The sheltered but curious Wendla finds herself drawn to her intelligent, rebellious childhood friend, Melchior, who offers answers to her questions about the world of adult relationships. Meanwhile, Moritz, Melchior's anxious best friend, is tormented by his own imagination and by his failure to live up to the expectations of parents and teachers alike. They and their peers set out on a coming-of-age journey that is at turns tragic and beautiful, set to a rock score that bridges the gap between the characters and the youth of today.

Content Warning: We believe the themes of Spring Awakening are relevant and that the story it tells is important. In telling this story and exploring these themes, the show deals with strong sexual dialogue and content, sexual abuse and assault, teenage pregnancy, abortion, suicide, parental abuse, medical abuse, use of weapons, and death. Please reach out to the show team or the SMC Troubadours team if you wish to discuss the content of the show.

The show will be performed at the Michael Young Theatre, in the Young Centre for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $20, or $10 for students and seniors.
